Over the years we have welcomed thousands of female members and offered a wonderfully diverse range of activities. Our Women-Only programme is delivered by inspirational and motivational female instructors, where women can choose from women-only classes, swimming sessions – including swimming lessons, and even women-only gym times.

Women-Only Group Exercise

This specially designed programme exclusively for women, offers a supportive and motivating environment with female instructors. These classes focus on a variety of fitness activities, such as strength training, cardio, yoga and dance, tailored to meet women's unique health and wellness needs. With expert instructors and a community-driven atmosphere, participants can enjoy a safe space to improve their fitness, build confidence and connect with like-minded women.

Women-Only Swimming

Our Adult Women-Only swimming sessions provide a dedicated space for women aged 18 and over to swim in privacy, supervised by a female lifeguard with no public viewing. For those with young children, our Women & Children-Only sessions allow women to swim alongside their children, with boys up to age 7 permitted with a female guardian, and a female lifeguard on duty.

Women-Only Swimming Lessons

If you want to learn how to swim but you're not sure where to start, then you are not alone!

A study by Swim England found that although 97% of adults perceive swimming as an important life skill, a high proportion are still unable to swim, and, women are even more least likely to learn.

When it comes to going for a swim, it can feel a little daunting and even dangerous. Especially if you can’t swim. You may even feel that being in your swimwear in front of strangers is enough to stop you from taking a dip, but these shouldn’t be reasons to stop you from learning and enjoying the many benefits that come with swimming.

Women-only swimming lessons ensure:

  • No spectators or viewing allowed
  • Female lifeguards and teachers
  • Open dress policy – as long as your clothing is clean, safe, modest and not excessively baggy, you can wear what you want!

Making Every Contact Count (MECC) Training
-
Making Every Contact Count (MECC) Training

Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is an approach to behaviour change that uses the thousands of day to day interactions that organisations and people have with each other to support them in making positive changes to physical and mental health and wellbeing.

Drawing on behaviour change evidence, MECC maximises the opportunity within routine health and care interactions for a brief or very brief discussion on health or wellbeing factors to take place.

A MECC interaction takes a matter of minutes and is not intended to add to busy workloads, rather it is structured to fit into and complement existing professional and social engagement approaches. Evidence suggests that the broad adoption of the MECC approach by people and organisations that interact with others on a day to day basis could potentially have a significant impact on the health of our population.‍
