Active Luton is required [by law] to protect the public funds it administers. It may share information provided to it with other bodies responsible for; auditing, or administering public funds, or where undertaking a public function, in order to prevent and detect fraud.
The Cabinet Office is responsible for carrying out data matching exercises.
Data matching involves comparing computer records held by one body against other computer records held by the same or another body to see how far they match. This is usually personal information. Computerised data matching allows potentially fraudulent claims and payments to be identified. Where a match is found it indicates that there is an inconsistency which requires further investigation. No assumption can be made as to whether there is fraud, error or other explanation until an investigation is carried out.
Active Luton participates in the Cabinet Office’s National Fraud Initiative: a data matching exercise to assist in the prevention and detection of fraud. We are required to provide particular sets of data to the Minister for the Cabinet Office for matching for each exercise, as detailed here.
The use of data by the Cabinet Office in a data matching exercise is carried out with statutory authority under Part 6 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. It does not require the consent of the individuals concerned under the Data Protection Act 1998.

CASUAL ACTIVITY ASSISANT
L1B £7.66 per hour
You will be involved in promoting Active Luton’s Recreation Centres in a multicultural environment and helping to ensure the safety and well being of the users of the Centres. Your duties will include life guarding, erecting and dismantling sports equipment and ensuring the cleanliness of the Centre and the safety of the general public following all relevant Active Luton’s policies and procedures.
You must have a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification also preferably have experience of dealing with the public, ideally in a leisure environment.
Hours will be worked on a shift rota basis, which include evenings and weekends.

DUTY MANAGER CATERING
37 hours – worked on a flexible basis
Assist the Commercial Manager in the direct supervision of Bar and Catering services, including deploying staff as appropriate.
Recruit, Induct, train and motivate catering workers to ensure an efficient, effective service is delivered to the highest standards of customer care. Deal with any performance or quality issues referring more serious cases to the Commercial Manager.
You will be required to Plan and review menus to meet customer needs and ensure that food is prepared and served to the highest standards of quality.
To ensure that equipment and practices meet with relevant legislative and health and safety standards, dealing with any equipment breakdowns and servicing requirements. Ensure the security of cash, bank monies taken and ensure that the services operate within budgetary limits.
You will be required to assist in the provision of a special functions service to the public through the above facilities other venues to meet contract requirements and as well as prepare food either at the function venue or at the central production kitchen, transporting to the venue, ensuring that the necessary standards of quality and service are achieved.
