This course for lunchtime supervisors can include many different elements to achieve this according to the needs of your school, including behaviour management, managing conflict, organising safe playground games and ideas. This course includes a practical experience.There will be practical elements to this course that delegates will be encouraged to join in with where they are able to do so.Course objectivesBy the end of the course delegates will:
  • Have a clear understanding of the benefits of effective play management during lunchtime
  • Have a bank of practical ideas and resources for use during lunchtimes to meet the needs of all young people
  • Have a clear vision of how they can implement successful strategies for effective lunchtime play in their school

Teaching High Quality Athletics

Course description

This course will develop the confidence and knowledge of staff to teach high quality athletics lessons. It will provide staff with the skills to teach running, jumping and throwing and a bank of ideas and resources that they can use in lessons.

Course objectives By the end of the course delegates will:
  • Understand the requirements of the EYFS and National Curriculum in athletics
  • Have an understanding of the fundamental movement skills that underpin athletics
  • Have an understanding of safe and inclusive teaching methodology
Target audience Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Adults Other Than Teachers supporting Learners in EYFS, KS1 and 2 school settings and Modern Apprentices.

Course description

These network meetings will provide an opportunity for discussion and training in relation to current developments around Physical Education and School Sport.  Each meeting will address a training opportunity, include a chance to network and will provide subject leaders with additional ideas to take back to colleagues in school.

Course objectives By the end of the course delegates will:
  • Gained updates and training on current developments within PE and School Sport, e.g. Sport Premium, PE National Curriculum, School Games, etc
  • Taken part in Sport Specific ideas and training
  • Had opportunities to network and share good practice with colleagues

There may be practical elements to these sessions in which case delegates are requested to wear suitable and appropriate clothing. Specific details of each session will be circulated nearer the time.

Target audience All PE co-ordinators/subject leaders (new and existing) in the primary phase.
