On our superb 18 hole, par 69 main course. This challenging layout set in 120 acres of established parkland is ideal for beginners and the experienced golfers alike. Designed by the highly regarded architect Charles Lawrie (responsible for other gems such as the Duke’s and Duchess courses at Woburn), the course boasts a great mixture of holes each with its own unique challenge. Some of the most memorable holes include the 10th, a par 3 of over 200 yards played through an avenue of trees to a tight green where a par is always hard to find. The 14th, another par 3 played from an elevated tee to a green with a stunning backdrop and the very next hole, a short par 4 that shouldn’t be underestimated. Long hitters may be tempted to take on the green with their drive however the green is well guarded and less is often more on this hole.

Overall the Stockwood Park course provides an enjoyable test for all. Though not long by modern standards a premium is placed on accuracy and many who come thinking they can overpower it are soon caught out.
